12v Downlights

Hi, i've just fitted 6 x 12v downlights in my renault traffic.  It is a ring circuit and i took the feed directly from the original interior light.  They run 12v g4 10w halogen bulbs.  When one is connected it is nice and bright, however when they are all connected, they hardly glow up at all.  Any suggestions?  Are the bulbs too much?

Did you wire them in series
Did you wire them in series or paralell? Wire size plays a large role if the wire is too small the lights won't be able to to draw enough current to power all the lights to their rated wattage but will probly be plenty for just one light.at 10 watts each when you have all of them on you are pulling 60 watts through the original factory dome light circut usually a very small wire feeds this circut being its only meant to feed a few low wattage interior lights.in the long run It can become a fire hazard or at the very least cause a short if the wire gets hot enough to melt.in my van I wired all the extra lights I put in straight to the battery with a fuse useing a high amp rated wire also might need to test the battery.
