ok, i'm fairly new to this and i need help desperately!
i basically want to install a fridge in my campervan. Now i've spoken to a friend and he says i need a yellow top battery, split charge relay (preferably self-sensing), power inverter and a transformer (2 plug).... now i've just been searching on the internet and there are a million different products out there... how do i know the specific ones that'll all work together???
i basically need someone to tell me exactly what to buy!!! the fridge is a 17litre caldura fridge 12v 240v and 40 watt.
If anyone can help, i'd appreciate it muchos!
thanks. Katie x
Hi katie, the whole electrics thing is a minefield I know! However, there are some details already about batteries & split chargers etc at http://www.campervanconversion.co.uk/campervan-electrics.html and I'm trying to find the time to add more detailed info about wiring soon, so keep checking back. Hopefully someone on here might give you a few pointers in the meantime... good luck!
if the fridge has gas also, u this were possible over electric it is cheaper by far.
build a GAS flue so u dont gas yourself if u use gas, lots of places can help with what u need on this.
12V should only be used when moving. 240V for when camper is at a hookup or being boost charged before a venture out somewhere.
find a carvan breakers and take one out is cheapest option.
as someone once said to me, what are u running that is killing the batteries , i said a fridge. he said u would need a massive battery to run a fridge for weekend. put it on gas and doit right
i guys, can anyone help me with fitting a fridge into my camper please. My old fridge has broke so having to replace it, only the flue is on the other side to the old one. Is there any way of fitting it without cutting another hole in the side of my van?
