Condensation and Insulation

Hello all,

I was looking for abit of help I'm going to make a start to insulating and relining my Mercedes 311CDi soon and I'm after abit of help and ideas...

I would asume my first port of call is to address the problem with condensation on the roof, whats the best solution before I start to apply insulation, Im not sure if I should be creating a cavity behind the insulation and venting that air, or wether the insulation should be against the metal and circulate the air behind the ply lining? Or just circulate the air altogether

the other cause for concern is moisture causes rust, and theres allways going to be some moisture on the inner side of the panels... I've not had my van long and ive only spent abit of time in the back and already I'm starting to notice more a seem in the roof has started to rust from all the condensation, I'm wondering if thats going to go on behind the insulation where I cant see it happening.

also what insulation should I use? I was thinking of getting a spray foam kit and using that? Only im not sure about it trapping moisture and causing rust.

The plan after this is too then to make a different bulk head fitt my first fix electrics (sockets from 3000w inverter and LED 12v lights) then line the whole van with ply again and cover this in light grey lino, the lino however is still open to debate.

Does that sound like the right way to go about it?

Thanks very much for looking!

I am approaching the same

I am approaching the same stage in my build and have the same questions, I was looking at the insulation they have for sale here in the online shop ? its says it works against condensation too ? and its very thin and comes in rolls, easy to apply and work with...but if anyone has any ideas id like to hear them id rather measure twice cut once kinda thing
