Hello All,

I'm new to this forum as I have just brought my first campervan!

Its been part converted and as far as having 240 hook up it only has an extension lead running from the back of the van with a 3 prong inlet under the van.

I was planning to install a small garage consumer unit inside the van and then wire in some sockets and a couple of lights.

Can someone tell me if this type of consumer unit will do the job? and am I right in thinking that all I need to do is earth the consumer unit to the chasis of the van? I've heard that sometimes earthing in this way can cause the consumer unit to trip everytime someone touches the body work of the van - is this true?
