Low cost heating

I've read a couple of threads elsewhere about low cost heating and the dangers of various ways of heating a small van without hook-up and would like to know people's views on my idea.

Folks have warned against the dangers of using ceramic pots on gas cookers because of the fumes, but what if one used a pot with a hole in the top to which was attached a pipe leading outside? Also a couple of holes or gaps lower down through which to let in oxygen. I can't see any problems with that, but please tell me otherwise if you know better, cause there's nothing worse than waking up dead after a short snooze of an evening.

Thanks

hi, just read your post, did

hi, just read your post,

did you work out anything on this? i am looking at a cheap option for heating my vito. cheap and entirely basic so was wondering if there were problems using a fan heater or similar? obviously only on hook-up as i've bought 12v windscreen de-icers which were about as effective as not bothering.

Cheers

Heating

In my experience, breaking wind loudly and above all persistently, can provide sufficient heat for geezer type people in home made camper vans.  Obviously, anyone sharing the living space needs to be of a similar disposition and lacking a sense of smell.  If you both eat lots of veggie food you can take turns to fart all through the night ,merrily warming the van as you go.  Best of all, it's a renewable source and does not hurt any animals.  It may or may not add to global warming but probably less than cows flatulence.  I hope this has been of some help to the community here.
