Hi - I've just bought an ex-police Mercedes Sprinter. After several years of procrastination! I finally got off my backside and JFDI'd it as a post-retirement project.

My van came with wall and floor insulated, windows fitted, night heater installed (but de-commissioned prior to auction by Police), lexan side windows, single prisoner cage, lights and A/C system. The electrics were all de-commissioned for some reason so I need to get these fixed and working. The Police service their trucks every six months or so so it's been pretty well serviced but has had some use so it's got a few dinks and marks.

I plan to use this as bachelor escape truck with fixed single bunk and use the cage for toilet area and storage plus remove most of the seats except one/two and fit a fold-down table, sink and cooker etc. The inside is grey so I'll have to think about painting the walls and maybe some carpet. It's a high top MWB with the Sprintronic gear box.

My current problem is that I'd like to change the double passenger seat for a single one so I've got a walk-through from front to rear - haven't tried my local scrap yards yet but single passenger seats are not very numerous on Ebay.

I'm OK with the joinery work but I plan to get the electrics done by a professional. Also as a bachelor truck, I'm intending to make it a no-nonsense installation.
