Ford TRansit Part Conversion - ideal for easy conversion project

Hi

In March this year I bought a 2003 Ford Transit, High Top, Long Wheel Base, Crew Van with the intention of converting to a camper

I have completed it to the point where it has been categorised by the DVLA as a Motorhome but have some outstanding work to do.

It has a Reimo rock’n’roll seating system which moves along the length of van on a tracking system. It has 3 seat belt fittings. This allows the seating to be positioned anywhere along the length of the van.

I have also installed two fittings for the table to be set up at the front or rear of the van depending where the seating is positioned.

It is insulated and lined throughout

It also has a freshwater container installed with pump, sink etc

The van also has a new stand alone Navigator awning which comes with a removable sleeping area.

It has a windscreen cover ( like this one http://campervanaccessories.co.uk/fiamma-external-cover-glas-fiat-peugeo...)

Outstanding work includes;

completing the fitting out with furniture (which I have from a caravan),

finishing off 12 volt electric (battery and fusing etc already purchased),

gas connection (gas bottle and cooker already purchased),

Pretty much everything is there to complete the conversion

The reason for putting this up for sale is because, due to working commitments, we didn’t have as much time to use it as we had hoped this summer.

I have to decide whether or not to complete this over the winter and hope we have more time next summer or sell it to someone who would want to take it on as an almost complete job.

My decision will be based on the level of interest I get from anyone who may want purchase

The van

63,000 miles on the clock.

MOT and TAX until March 09

I’m not a mechanic – hence I bought a young van with low mileage on the basis that there isn’t much point spending time and money converting an old van which might not get us around for long.

I have spent around £8,500 on this and would want to get all of this back OR spend more time finishing it off and either using it next year or perhaps sell it for more as a completed conversion.
