Transit kitchen layout

Right ho people just lookinf for some advice,

I've got a Mk6 Transit LWB Hi top, ex jarvis mess van, it has two windows on the sides, fully lined with fabric.

What i'd like to do is to add a bed/sleeping area-possibly at the rear with storage beneath, a kitchen unit with fridge, hob and sink behind the drivers seat and against the righthand window, Passenger seat on a swivel,, removable table in middle and maybe  one/two seats opposite this(right of the side door).  Plus some overhead storage in places.

So where do i start!  What do i ned to think aout when constructing the kitchen unit?  What should i use for it? - I'd like something quite professional looking.  And in terms of plumbing/electrics, is there anything i need to know?

Any advice will be welcome, likewise ayone any comments on my layout ideasi'd be keen to hear them.

Your layout sounds cool.  It's pretty similar to the one detailed in the Planning section of this site.  Couple of thoughts on the kitchen unit......you don't really want the fridge under the stove but you probably know that.  Obviously the sink will sit down into the unit so you will need some clearance below before there is space for storage.  You'll also need somewhere for the sink to drain.  I just have a container behind the driver seat which it drains into which isn't the prettiest but it does mean I can dispose of the wastewater properly - I didn't fancy it just draining out of a hole in the floor of the van....You can get combined sink and hobs which can be good for saving some space but depends on your preferred layout.  I just used plywood and some 2 by 2s for support to build my kitchen unit - usual conversion compromise of strength vs. weight.  It's definitely a bit rustic tho' as I never got round to fitting doors on the compartments for the coolbox and the cutlery / utensils.  That would definitely make it look better.  Plan out the overall layout first and then lay the wiring and plumbing.  You don't really want to be running things too far and I guess the main thing is deciding where the water tank will go remembering you will need to keep refilling this.  Probably things you've already thought about but have fun.....
