Hi all,
i am considering buying a VW T5 panel van and converting it into a camper of sorts. I dont want to put perminante gas or a sink into it. What i need the van for is everyday use and then on weekends for surfing trips.
My plan is to have fixed units and selfves for a spare battery etc and a fold away bed that would double as a bemch/seat when not traveling on the weekend. I want to keep the amount of stuff to a minimum in it for weight perposes.
Would anyone be able to help with advice or links to website for plans.
Hi Jon,
Came across this while looking for something else, it's an Australian site with some layouts on it. It's focussed on 4WDs so smaller vehicles than your looking at but most other campervan layouts go for the whole thing - cupboards, bed, stove, table which is more than you want. These look more like what you are after with just the bed inside. I reckon the idea of the awning on the back would be good to give you an area for cooking / washing. You could just have a portable stove, camping sink etc stored in the van. It means you wouldn't have to compromise the inside of the van too much as you need it for daily use but would give you an additional "indoor" space. Definitely best to get a van with a tailgate though if you want to do the awning thing on the back and they do tend to be a little harder to find in the T5s....
