240 hook/charger for a leasuire battery running on its own alternator

I have recently purchased a ford transit 1995 ambulance and i am planning on turning this into a camper van.

as normal camper van converserions start by you just adding things, doing the ambulance is a little different as it already has quiet a hefty power generation system.

i have found during research on the net and chatting to people who know the configuration of this type of FORD.  that 1.

FORD did it on the cheap and it has a great big isolator switch installed to protect the engine battery.  how ever some of the equipment( night heater) is wired though this isolator for safety(cheap way)

to get around the problems with split charging from one alternator they installed two.

alternator 1 is connected to the starter motor and works just the same as normal.

alternator 2 is mounted off the power stering pully and is connected to the leasuire battery which in turn feeds power to the nightheater and another 3 lines that go to a 36 way fuse box.

this was needed to run all the electrics, I have removed about a third of the electrics on this and it is now in state that it will be running about 10 items MAX.

i wish to purchase a 20A 240V ZIF like charger that can deep charge a 120ah battery and also relay 240 inside when needed.  although having 240 is not critical.

any pointers on which charger to buy,  I am currently dealing with this the manual way.

ie  : manually connecting a portable charge to the 2nd battery. I want a plug in commando solution if possible.

the diagram on split charge on the bottom of this page.  Does this still work ok , if I dont have the engine battery in the loop.  do I need the relay at all.

"you can also use a Diode based system or even just have a manually switched setup where you have to explicitly switch "  If I have the two sources as alternator number 2 or 240V

what box do I need to buy to make this work?
