camper conversion classes for insurance reasons ...

I am looking into converting a van into a camper/ motorhome . Will be used for vintage rallys along camping holidays . If the van does not have a seperate area for goods/ a load . or is capabile carrying goods ie personal use ... could be materials like wood . mechanical parts or just genral goods . would this still be classed as a van or what ?

The idea is to have a space in the rear of van on 1 side by rear doors and can load the that area with what im carrying and having a bed up the front behind drivers seat and then a kitchen down one side . will be equiped with a winch and loading ramps .

Also would i need to change the vehicle class with DVLA from a van to a van with windows or what ?

Many thanks , matt
