Hi there, I've been interested in campervan conversions for some time now. Always wanted to give it a go. But, theres one issue, I'm only 18. As you know this means spending an absolute fortune on insurance (when I can actually get quotes). Majority of people wont insure under 21's or 25' and when they do they charge anywhere from £2300 upwards (for me anyway and depending on the van). Best quote I recieved was £1550 on a 2008 Fiat Scudo Crew Cab on Third Party Fire and Theft. 

Being my age does anyone have any ideas on the types of vans I can get cheaply and/or low engine sizes so i'm able to insure it? 

Also, I was thinking of maybe getting the van, parking it on my drive and working on it for the meantime, until I'm able to insure it. Would this work?
