hi. read your bit about the pannel van windows, great thanks. my 1973 camper is an ex pannel van, with rubber inserts, am i right to think that you put the rubber to the van and not around the window first (as you would doing a windscreen) i have the rubber and the beading s you say in your report.
best regards
brian.
Yup, from what you describe it sounds exactly like what I did (and what it suggests for fitting campervan windows on this site). You put the rubber to the van then put in the windows. Basically you do it this way to give you some play (just enough to get the windows in) although it should be pretty tight if you have cut the holes correctly. The beading then goes in last (use lots of soapy water or the resistance can be a nightmare) and pushes the rubber frame out to create a firm seal. Might be an idea to have someone inside just gently holding the window. I had a mate once was a bit keen on pushing it into the frame and it fell right through the gap (though I think he'd cut the hole slightly too big as well).
