Hi Everybody
Yeah! I'am the newbee. But I have a posser of a question.
Let me explain, I,am an M.O.T tester so I have a little Knowledge about construction and use, plus M.O.T classes e.t.c. I have just purchased a Merc 811d 7.5 tonne living van, which by V.O.S.A classes has to be plated as an H.G.V. and so has usual restrictions of any H.G.V. one of them being the diesel govener. As a mechanic with 30 year experiance I understand the fact that playing with the govener can lead to total distruction of one's engine, plus on a H.G.V its a complete no no, but when this thing is converted to a motor caravan it becomes a class 4 M.O.T test which is the same as your averidge family saloon which are not as such restricted. So can I then cut the sealing tag off and play with the govener screw until I find the best limit for me and the van? Without going silly of course.
Thanks for reading
