Hi Guys, I'm looking for a van to convert, this will be my first venture, into motor homing, I've heard tales about engines going bang, burning electrics and other such horror stories, I need some advice on what vans are good and which are to be avoided. 

ive been looking at long wheel base Sprinter, Ducato type vans, I even had my eye on an ambulance, at little while ago. 

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.
