You're probably better off looking on Ebay for a CD for self build camper vans. These give you ideas on how to go about doing everything concerned with converting your own van into a campervan.  I made the framework for the van lining and made all the cupboards myself using the lightest materials I could get so most of the woodwork is screwed to the ply lining.  Looking at some of the stuff people make cupboards with it's a wonder they can actually get the vehicle to move once its finished. I used thin ply for the lining, and 1 1/4" roof laths for the framework. The cupboard doors are the only thing made out of contiboard, the actual carcase of the cupboards is made from 1/4" MDF and covered with a laminate which I was lucky enough to get from a shopfitting company. That is one thing I would really emphasise - keep it as light as you possibly can - diesel is expensive and isn't going to get any cheaper.

We started a blog when we started our campervan in 2011. We moved the blog from Posterous to Blogger half way through, but the old blog has more detailed pics of the inside of the Van, although about to do a post on Blogger about insulation and lining of our van which have only just got around to doing.  This is a link to the page with all the links to our original blog over on posterous.

Good luck with your project - it's all worth it in the end and I hope you have better weather than I've had this last two years while you're doing it smiley
