Hey Dave, super useful to see how much things cost. Looks like you got a good deal on the base van with only 12,000 miles. £6K for a portable holiday home sounds pretty good!
I was very lucky with the van. Although it was a 2005, I found a job sheet in the glove compartment. Looks like the van was used on a university campus as a maintenance / delivery vehicle, so it didn't go very far. It had its share of knocks and bangs. One door is a replacement as it doesn't fit very well and is a slightly different colour, and the rear door has been resprayed. Inside the expected dinks, scrapes and boot marks but most of them got covered with the grey lining carpet!
The van was advertised on eBay by a van dealer. I bought it based on the photos and had it delivered to home without actually seeing it. A bit of a risk, but all has worked out very well. The van dealer deals with large organisations who look after their vans. I have seen ex AA vans on their site for example.

If I have seen further it is by standing on ye sholders of Giants.
Hi Dave Thanks for the really informative post ! Like the other people who replied , I think you got a really great deal on the van. Could you tell me / us the name and contact details of the dealer ?? I think that good dealers deserve to get more business from personal recommendations like Dave's.
Thanks ! Oldtech
Oops ... sorry everyone !
I didn't intend to post the same thing 5 times !
This forum seems a bit "clunky" compared to others I use.
I couldn't see a "post reply" button to click on , and when I clicked
on "save" I just got a blank page that didn't refresh

Hi there,
The dealer was RightVan http://www.rightvan.co.uk/used-vans based in Coventry
They are not specifically Suzuki vans - some nice bigger vans on the site at the moment.
