Hi all,
So I have my van, a SWB Transit (08 reg). I have my ply, carpet, lino, insulation. However, before I begin all that, I have some issues to sort out. Firstly there is a random disconnected connection on the driver's side of the vehicle about the rear wheel arch. I have no idea what it is for. Also there is a fair bit of wiring leading to the rear lights.
I'm a bit worried about carpeting away and then realising at some point that I need to get to this stuff. How do you deal with this? I'm thinking of having a set of panels at appropriate points that i can remove if electrical wiring needs to be fiddled with. Does this seem wise to you experienced campervan converters?
Secondly, under the passenger seat there are three wires which seem to have been attached to the battery by a previous owner to power some kind of tools, but have just been chopped off. Any ideas about what they are and how they might be useful in terms of adding a leisure battery?
Thirdly, I've been looking into using insulating paint like thermilate e-coat or warmtouch to use on the bare metal interior sections to improve insulation and reduce condensation. Do any of you have experience or advice about this?
Many thanks in advance my friends!
Steve
