Our converter , Drivelodge of keighley are well under way with our conversion of a 2013 NV200 which we got brand new. Here is some info which may help others who are interested in a DIY or professional conversion.
A lot of money can be saved buying the base vehicle yourself. A second hand NV200 can now be bought for quite low figures if you shop around.
If you are converting yourself , a side conversion is feasible if you keep the cupboard width down to around 400 mm/420mm or so. You may have to use a wider section where you install a Smev hob and/or fridge and check that a rock and roll bed will fit. I think that a 3/4 VW MAY be a possible fitment but you would have to check for certain. Swivel cab seats are possible if you convert universal swivels and forward/aft rails for the passenger side. These lift the seat height to clear the handbrake and centre fitments but again check it out as different swivels have different thicknesses. Ditto the seat rails. Allow plenty of clearance behind the driver's seat in front of a side cupboard version, especially if you wish to store a table.
The following companies can offer raising roofs. Number one is Drivelodge, my preferred and chosen supplier.Drivelodge roof hinges at the front and has an aerodynamic roof deflector. Also Sussex Campervans have a roof but theirs hinges at the rear not the front. Urban campers have a pop top which seems a good alternative.
These two both do conversions on the NV200. Drivelodge are particularly flexible in what they can offer.
Other converters include Urban Campers, Clearcut Campervans ( incredible offer prices but no raising roof currently)
There is plenty of length for a decent bed. Not sure as yet if our Porta Potti can be used with the bed set up for night time. Will report later once we get sorted as I consider this very useful , especially in winter.
Hope this helps somebody !
