The Idea is to create a motorhome from a standard van on a small budget. This vehicle should be fit for the purpose of going on holiday for a day or a few weeks. This brings with it some problems and finding a suitable vehicle to convert is the first step. I originally assisted with my sons conversion to his vehicle but decided that there were some things I would do different on mine.

The vehicle I decided on was an Iveco Daily Luton van. This would enable me to have the sleeping area on top of the cab, instead of moving the settee in and out all of the time.
The van is a 2.8ltr Turbo Daily (diesel) and was built as a 4912 model. The vehicle was originally 4.9 ton but was down rated to 3.5 ton on paper with the dvla. This was probably to let younger drivers without their C1 on their license drive the vehicle. The engine bay looks pristine and unusually clean for a vehicle of this age.
