WOOL INSULATION

Hello fellow camper converters!,

I bought an 04 vw t5 last april which i used for my work for a while but, the time has come(at last) to begin my conversion. Came across this site while looking for how too's and what a great place it is to be! So my starting point is insulation have read the other stuff on the site (very useful) but i've been thinking of using wool batts as from what i gather its natural properties prevent the need of a vapour barrier as it apparently aborbs condensation and holds it whithin  the fibre till it warms up and releases it. Does this sound like a good idea or anybody know otherwise? Also its v good for environment and needs no special handling.

Cheers guys, I'll be back soon with a thousand  other questions !

presume you are meening

presume you are meening natural sheeps wool?  my only thought with this is even thought the wool had natural waterproofing qualitys and will lock away moisture, the weight of wool when it gets wet?? also surely eneviatbly surely the waterwill seep through to the walls making it wet and rust??  only a thought and happy to be proven wrong!

sheep wool

hi thanks for replying, yeah mountain sheep wool apparently its better than 'normal' sheep. this was my concern also about were the moisture goes once its in there. so perhaps use a moisture barrier as well do you think? Im just really not keen on putting fibreglass/rockwool etc. in there as i worked with stuff like that and its horrible gear and over time it does flatten down. Any other suggestions ?
